Policy for women applications and entry

The mission of the Admissions Department at AUM is to provide an exceptional service to all candidates and ensure that the admission process is adhered to and completed within the allocated time frame.
Admission Process
AUM has three admission stages to ensure a fair assessment of students’ potential in pursing their undergraduate courses.
Stage 1
Fill in the Admission Application form accurately and completely, and provide the following documents:
Copy of Passport
Copy of high school Certificate
Copy of Civil ID. In case the Civil ID is expired, a letter of interest should be provided from the Public Authority for Civil Information
A 30 KWD fee for the placement test and file opening
Stage 2
Take the AUM Skill Assessment Tests in English and Math.
Stage 3
An Admission Committee evaluates each admission application, test score, and High School GPA to reach an Admission Decision.
The applicant must meet the following criteria:
High School GPA:
College of Engineering and Technology: Science Section - 2.50 (70%) or above
College of Business Administration: Science and Art Sections - 2.0 (60%) or above
All credentials must be certified by the Kuwait Ministry of Education.
High school certificates must be issued within the last 3 years.
The average percentage may be recalculated for certain certifications.
AUM’s English Language Skill Assessment Test score (For all Colleges):
Minimum score required: 110 points.
Applicants scoring 90 points or above can retake the test once. The higher score will be considered.
If the English Language Skill Assessment Test is not passed, applicants can reapply during subsequent admission periods when announced, provided the student’s admission has not been rejected for other reasons under AUM Admission Policy.
AUM’s Math Skill Assessment Test score (For all Colleges):
· Minimum score required: 40%.
· Applicants scoring 20% and above can retake the test once. The higher score will be considered.
· If the Math Skill Assessment Test is not passed, applicants can reapply during subsequent admission periods when announced, provided the student’s admission has not been rejected for other reasons under AUM Admission Policy.
· Applications submitted by former AUM students who were dismissed are not accepted and their admission will not be activated.

AUM's re-Admission policy will apply to applicants who withdrew from AUM
في حال كان المتقدم منسحباً من جامعة الشرق الأوسط الأمريكية، تطبق سياسة إعادة الإلتحاق بالجامعة.
The applicant should not have been subjected to academic or non-academic dismissal from any other higher academic institution, and should submit documents as proof of such from previously enrolled higher academic institution(s) post high school graduation.

An applicant of 21 years of age or above who discontinued his/her studies for more than one academic year, must submit a recent valid clear criminal record (not exceeding 3 months) upon application.

Admitted students will receive confirmed admission status and direct entry to university-level courses if they meet the following requirements: (Conditional acceptance is granted to students who do not meet the below criteria):
All Colleges: Attain one of the following grades in an English Language exam:
Score 180+ points in the AUM English Language Skill Assessment Test.
Score 60 points or above in the International TOEFL – IBT Exam.
Score 6 points or above in the Academic IELTS.
Colleges of Engineering and Technology – Health Sciences: Achieve a score of 80% or above in the Math Skill Assessment Test.
Conditions for accepting TOEFL/IELTS scores:
Official TOEFL/IELTS results must be submitted by the last day of the add/drop period of the registered semester to exempt the student from the English Preparatory Program (EPP).
After the add/drop period, students must attend and pass the first level of the English Preparatory Program (EPP) for their TOEFL/IELTS results to be accepted, exempting them from Level 2 of EPP. No results will be accepted during or after the academic semester in case of failure.
EPP Level 2 students can submit their official TOEFL/IELTS results at any time to exempt themselves from continuing to Level 2 of the EPP. They will then be enrolled in the undergraduate program at the beginning of the following semester.
If the EPP semester is frozen, students have the right to submit TOEFL/IELTS results before the last day of the add/drop week of the following semester.
Acceptances are only valid for the semester in which the student applied to and no deferral is allowed.
Applicant must specify to AUM if he/she has any special needs so that the University can determine the ability to meet these needs.
It is the student’s responsibility to inform the university about any physical or psychological complications they are suffering from; any cases of addiction, or any serious violations or penalties issued against him/her.
Students are required to submit to the university any academic and/or non-academic warnings previously received by other institutions.
In addition to the information required in the Admission application form, the applicant acknowledges that he/she is responsible to provide AUM with all the academic and/or non-academic information from previous educational institutions that he/she was enrolled in. This includes health information, serious violations, criminal court rulings, etc.
Student acknowledges their full responsibility of the accuracy of information enclosed in their admission application, and any violation will lead to the student’s dismissal from the university.
Student acknowledges their responsibility to read and review all the conditions and policies related to admissions, which is available on the university’s official website (www.aum.edu.kw).
AUM reserves the right to make changes in the admission policy and procedure anytime during the period of admission and until the last day of the add/drop period, and the student acknowledges that his/her admission is subject to any amendments made to the admission policy.
AUM reserves the right to reject any applicant in the event of any act of misbehavior or misconduct; or violation of the rules and regulations of the university during the application and admission process.
Upon applying for admission at AUM, the student grants the University the right to approach all the educational institutions attended by the student directly to request and receive all their academic and non-academic records, in addition to the records from existing and previous employers.
AUM reserves the right to make changes in the educational curricula, course scheduled timings, syllabus, study plan, and amend tuition and/or any other fees.
The student acknowledges that the information requested in the application form does not include all the information necessary for the admission process, and the university has the right to ask the student for any additional information.
It is the applicant’s responsibility to be aware of the tuition fees structure and payment procedures.
Student acknowledges that in the case of Government Grant Enrolment, the student is responsible for other fees and payments not covered by the Government grant/rules.
Student acknowledges that in case he/she wishes to change their major prior to enrolment, the following should apply:
Fulfilling admission requirements of the desired major
Acceptance is subject to availability of seats in the desired major
In case of the need to acquire Government grant to the new major, student takes responsibility to acquire the grant pending him/her passing the rules of AUM changing major policy.
