Policy protecting those reporting discimination from educational or employement disadvantage
AUM University in Kuwait has established a robust policy aimed at protecting individuals who report discrimination from experiencing any form of educational or employment disadvantage. The university recognizes the importance of fostering an environment where students and employees feel safe to report discrimination, harassment, or any unfair treatment without fear of retaliation. This policy ensures that those who come forward with such concerns are not only supported but also shielded from any adverse consequences that may result from their reporting. By implementing such protective measures, AUM not only upholds its commitment to equity and inclusivity but also promotes a culture of transparency and accountability where discrimination is addressed promptly and fairly.
It is essential to AUM that its students and staff feel comfortable on campus and can freely develop their personalities without fear of harassment or bullying. For this reason, AUM has a policy that protects its students, staff, and those who denounce these situations.
This policy establishes that those who observe a situation of discrimination or abuse can report it anonymously without fear of retaliation. It also clarifies that this policy applies not only to its students but also to its staff, suppliers, and contractors of AUM.
The identity of the person reporting a situation of abuse or discrimination will be kept confidential in cases where the complainant requests, and investigations will be conducted following due process so as not to reveal the details of the source. However, confidentiality will not apply in situations of lousy faith reporting, as in these situations, disciplinary measures will be taken against those complainants or victims who falsely testify against any person on campus.
AUM provides its students with a telephone number and two e-mail addresses where students or university personnel can file complaints or report situations of abuse or discrimination they witness on campus.
The Department of Admission and Registration at AUM delivers quality registration and record-keeping services to students, faculty, and the public, reinforcing institutional and academic policies and preserving the integrity, confidentiality, and security of the records. The department strives for professional excellence to serve the university with efficiency and accuracy using cutting-edge technologies while maintaining a student-centered environment.
