Sports Center
Our world-class facility offers an adequate environment for students, staff and the community as whole. Considered one of the largest university sports complexes in Kuwait and the Middle East, the AUM Sports Center gives the AUM community free access to a wide range of indoor and outdoor sporting facilities located on campus as described on the Sports Center webpage on AUM website.
As part of AUM’s efforts to promote a culture of health and wellbeing for the students and everyone on campus, a modern and large Sports Center is available, which includes indoor and outdoor playgrounds, in addition to many other sections. Professional trainers at the gym and specialized coaches for different kind of sports are also present dedicating their time to physically and mentally prepare AUM students to perform their best and prepare for competitions. The students have achieved outstanding results locally, regionally, and internationally.
The main objective of the Sports Center is to enhance faculty, staff, student’s and the community health awareness and assist them in improving their performance through programs adherent to different methodologies in sports science.

The AUM campus has been steadily evolving into an educational hub with modernly designed buildings and facilities. The campus includes: the Business Administration Building, the Engineering and Technology Building, the AUM Cultural Center that includes an Opera House and a Conference Center, the Library Building, a Sports Center, a Central Clinic, in addition to green open landscaped spaces, numerous cafeterias, multi-storage parking
complex, and a wide range of high-tech labs and facilities that are put at the disposal of AUM students, staff and faculty.
As the campus stretches over a mix of green and urban landscape, many entrances/exits are set up to ensure ease of mobility for students, faculty, and visitors.
The American University of Kuwait (AUM) has embraced a dynamic approach to utilizing its outdoor sports facilities, not only for its students but also for the broader public community. The university's commitment to fostering a healthy and active lifestyle extends beyond its campus boundaries, as it opens its sports facilities to the public during tournaments and leagues. AUM's outdoor sports facilities serve as a hub of community engagement, providing a platform for individuals of all ages to participate in various sports events. Through organized tournaments and leagues, AUM facilitates friendly competition, encourages physical activity, and promotes camaraderie among students and the wider community. AUM campus boasts a football stadium, volleyball and basketball courts and tennis court.
AUM students can reserve the court between Sunday and Thursday from 10 AM to 8 PM via Moodle. All required equipment is provided for free by the AUM Sports Center.

The facility is divided into both male and female sections, with three separate floors that divide faculty from students with each having their respective spacious fitness suite with a full range of state-of-the-art cardiovascular equipment, fixed resistance machines, and free weights.
The Gym hosts five large multi-purpose rooms; fitting up to 30 individuals, that can cater to martial arts, yoga, studio cycling, and floor-based exercises including dancing and gymnastics.
Our fitness facilities include changing rooms, lockers and showers. Staff are always available to provide information, assist with using the equipment or attending classes, as well as provide fitness assistance. Instructors are always available at the gym to give inductions, personal programs, and training advice to students and staff.

Universities Athletic Association of Kuwait
The UAAK was founded by AUM at the start of the 2015 academic year to promote inter-university sports competitions for male and female students. Participating Private Universities Teams compete over the academic year for each sport and for the overall championship of the UAAK, which is determined by the accumulating points of success from each sport.
Sports included in the UAAK are football, basketball, volleyball, futsal, squash, table tennis, and tennis, swimming, and squash. All sports are open to both male and female.
The matches take place at the campuses of AUM, and two other private universities.

As part of our belief in the importance of athletics to promote a culture of well-being and in its contribution to the learning experience of our students, our sports teams were honored by the AUM Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Fahad Al Othman. Only in 2019, AUM sports teams had around 20 achievements to highlight. In 2023, AUM sports teams had 10 achievements.
AUM Hosts ISACK Open Age Male Football Tournament for English Schools in Kuwait
ISACK sports tournaments are held each year for the teams of the English schools across Kuwait to compete in basketball, volleyball, netball, football, table tennis and swimming.
The tournaments are arranged for the teams of different ages, Under 9, Under 11, Under 13, Under 15 and Under 19 which is also referred to as the Open Age team. In October 2023, AUM hosted the Open Age Male Football Tournament in its football court.
In January 2023, AUM hosted the Brands League 2023 from 7 to 16 January 2023. The Brands League is a unique football tournament for local and international brands and agents, where 32 teams competed each other on AUM Football court.
In parallel, a festival was organized where various companies exhibited their booths and welcomed the community members. Also, the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup was livestreamed for those who wanted to watch the games.
AUM celebrated the Opening of FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Campus with daily livestreaming November 20 until the finals on December 18, 2022. Also, AUM Analysis Studio FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 was created on campus which was facilitated by students.
